abieze at CHFA NOW Toronto: shining a spotlight on Quebec black soap

A first at CHFA NOW Toronto for abieze… and already a spot among the 8 Launch Pad finalists.

On September 26 and 27, we’ll be heading to Toronto to participate for the very first time in CHFA NOW, one of Canada’s major events for the natural, organic, and wellness industry.

And this debut is a particularly important turning point for us: abieze has been selected as one of the 8 Launch Pad finalists.

It is an opportunity to showcase our business, of course. But above all, it is a chance to introduce a Quebec-grown raw material that we believe deserves a much larger place in our homes: camelina oil black soap.

Rethinking cleaning by starting with the raw material

Our reflection never began with this question: What new household product could we add to a shelf?

It started instead with: What do we actually need to clean?

It was this questioning that led us back to something much simpler: the raw material.

Black soap has existed for generations. It is a versatile product renowned in particular for its cleaning and degreasing power. But at abieze, we wanted to reinterpret it using a local raw material.

Our black soap is therefore made in Quebec using local camelina oil.

Doing a lot with a little

In an era where we sometimes find a different product for every room, every surface, and every task, we have chosen another direction.

Doing a lot with less.

The same concentrated black soap can be used for a multitude of tasks around the house: cleaning surfaces, degreasing the kitchen, washing floors, helping to remove stains, cleaning certain outdoor equipment, and much more.

It is around this raw material that we are gradually developing the abieze range.

Not a crowd of products just to multiply the number of bottles.

Just the right products.

Ready-to-use products that make it easy to incorporate black soap into daily life, but which always lead back to the same logic: understanding what you are using, why you are using it, and how a versatile raw material can replace several specialized products.

This is our way of normalizing mess… and simplifying what comes after.

Why the CHFA Launch Pad is important to us

Participating in CHFA NOW Toronto 2026 represents an important step in the development of abieze.

Being selected as one of the 8 Launch Pad finalists gives us the opportunity to present not only a product, but above all the commercial potential of a Canadian raw material that is still little known outside our market.

We want to demonstrate that it is possible to take a raw material inspired by traditional expertise, manufacture it here with a local oil, and transform it into a relevant proposal for the Canadian market.

Inspired by the past. Created for today.

CHFA will also allow us to meet with retailers, distributors, and industry players from across Canada and introduce them to another way of thinking about cleaning products.

From Quebec to Toronto… and what’s next?

When we started developing our camelina oil black soap, our ambition was not just to create another cleaner.

We wanted to put a raw material back at the center of the conversation.

Today, seeing abieze make it to CHFA NOW Toronto and being selected for the Launch Pad confirms one thing for us: the story of Quebec black soap is only just beginning.

We are proud to be able to present a product made here, from an oil grown here, and a vision of cleaning that reflects who we are:

simpler, more versatile, and focused on what is truly useful.

Toronto, here we come.

And this time, we’re bringing the black soap with us.

Will you be at CHFA NOW Toronto on September 26 and 27? Come meet us and discover our camelina oil black soap.
