Tile grout is one of the most thankless areas of the house: exposed to humidity, soap, mold, and limescale, it goes from sparkling white to questionable gray in the blink of an eye. However, there's no need for harsh chemicals or suffocating chlorine: nature has already provided everything.
Today, we're sharing a 100% natural and ultra-effective recipe based on sodium percarbonate and camelina black soap to revive your grout — and your shower!
Why this duo works so well
Sodium percarbonate is a magical white powder that releases active oxygen when it comes into contact with hot water. The result:
-
It whitewashes dull grout,
-
It deep cleans,
-
And it dissolves organic stains (mold, soap, grease, etc.).
Black soap, on the other hand, is an ancient cleaner made from vegetable oils. It is made from local camelina, a Quebec plant known for its gentleness and natural degreasing power.
→ It dissolves grease and soap residue,
→ Nourishes surfaces without damaging them,
→ And adds shine while respecting the environment.
Together, these two ingredients form a winning combination: black soap cleans and loosens, while percarbonate whitens and disinfects.
